It's been a minute since I did a favourites post, so today I'm going to share a couple of things that I've been loving recently:
Peonies// It's such a blogger stereotype to love peonies, but my mum kindly got me some when I got home from uni this time round and ugh... they are sooo gorgeous! She also cut me a rose from our garden!
New plants <3 It wouldn't be my current favourites if I didn't talk about plants, because I've been obsessed since I got home from Japan. Recent additions include my pilea peperomioides (which I'm trying my hand at propagating atm) and a cute pothos which I've made a little macramé style hanger for.
Makki grey hair dye// Although it's not the kindest on my hair, the colour of this is faultless. I love the initial grey colour, but it also fades to silver really nicely, without any weird grey or blue stains on my hair. I've written a proper review post on it: The best grey hair dye?! Makki professional colouring mask in grey review and before and after
Japanese dramas// Recently I've been trying to watch Japanese drama or youtube instead of English ones... because then I can pretend I'm studying :) Recent faves have been Nigehaji (逃げ恥)which was definitely *the* drama of winter 2016... the ending song was so catchy (so many random dance covers) and the story line is really cute! Other ones I've watched recently are レンタルの恋 and 東京タラレバ娘, which are both aimed at slightly different age groups (tarareba musume is definitely aimed at 20 somethings I think) but I'm really enjoying them. Both of the endings are super catchy too! I also need to pick up 地味にすごい again because that was really fun. If anyone's interested, I can write a longer post on my J-drama recommendations some time maybe :)
Podcasts// I know, I'm super late to the bandwagon, but this year I've been super into podcasts. My favourites are 99% invisible, which is about architecture and design (super interesting and the host, Roman Mars, has a lovely voice) The BBC also does some really great ones, like "people fixing the world" and they have podcasts of radio programmes like "Infinite Monkey Cage" too (Brian Cox!). Banging Book Club by youtubers Lucy Moon, Leena Norms and Hannah Witton is really fun and interesting to listen to- they review books about sex every month.
Don Broco// I saw Don Broco live for the first time at Slam Dunk a couple of weeks ago, and they were just as amazing as I'd hoped! Super excited to hear their new album that's in the works. My fave song is still Thug Workout, but latest single Pretty is also a great listen.
Thanks for reading!
What are you guys loving this summer?

Grungy summer style// Empties #4// Japanese streets part 8// My style goals 2017
I saw Don Broco a couple of years ago! They are so much fun live!
