Today, I have the rest of the photos from my Kyoto trip to share! I already posted about visiting Kiyomizu-dera, so feel free to check that one out too.
*today's post is picture heavy, as usual...
So, after Kiyomizu-dera we decided to take a look at Gion, which is probably Kyoto's most fammous Geisha district. Of course, all we saw were tourists.... I think it is really rare to spot a real Geisha. I really want to go to the Gion matsuri in July next year. I probably can because it is so cheap to get to Kyoto from me... around £4 each way.
Before we got to Gion, however, we passed Yasaka Jinja and decided to have a quick look inside:
The ever present vending machines of Japan:
Then we took a short walk through Kyoto to Gion
Gion:
After Gion we carried on walking back
we passed the Kabuki theatre:
And the river:
And we stumbled upon Ponto-cho (another Geisha district)There were a lot of people wearing Kimono and Yukata (summer Kimono) in Kyoto that day. I think people liked the excuse to dress up. There are a few shops in Kyoto that offer people the chance to rent a Yukata or Kimono and have their hair done, etc. I might have to treat myself to that one day.
The little bird is the symbol of Pontocho
Back to Kyoto and the station:
That's it for my Kyoto pictures for now, I hope you eenjoyed them! I definitely wanna go back there asap to see some other shrines and temples like the Inari Jinja, Ryoan-ji and Kinkaku-ji.
Thanks for reading!
