Third and final post about Shodoshima today.
We got off the ropeway, and were greeted by this amazing view:
And then we found the path and got on with hiking~
Round about here, we saw a wild monkey! It was actually pretty big and scary ^^;; so I didn't take a photo. It followed us for a bit, too. Nature is scary, guys (more on that later)
Other than that, we had a nice walk through the forest and passed some shrines.
We found this amazing view point looking out over the inland sea again:
And my friend Remi took what has to be my favourite picture of me ever:
We also passed by this... I think it is the remains of a shrine or castle or something.
By around 5, we reached the road to Fukuda. We walked along the road because there were no more hiking trails here. We were starting to get a leetle worried because the last ferry back to Himeji was at 7:30 and it was getting dark. It was still so beautiful though!
While we were walking, we saw a baby wild boar. Usually, when a baby is near, the mother is not far behind... We just walked on quietly and quickly... But every time we heard a rustling in the woods behind us it was terrifying!
We were pretty far from the town still, so I don't know what we would have done!
Luckily we were fine. Here's the view of Fukuda in the dark:
In the end, we got on the ferry with plenty of time to spare and it was all fine, you'll be pleased to hear :D
That's the end of my Shodoshima adventure!
Thanks for reading!
