Meiji Jingu shrine, Tokyo

Meiji Jingu, Torii
On Sunday we decided to check out Meiji Jingu shrine. Meiji Jingu and Harajuku were the two places I had my heart set on visiting the first time I went to Tokyo.
It is like a little oasis in the heart of Tokyo, and quite possibly my favourite place we visited that weekend. (I liked it just as much as neighbouring Harajuku!)
First, we walked to Takadanobaba station. You can see the Torii gate at the entrance to Anahachimangu shrine:

Meiji Jingu is set in a forest-like park, and the atmosphere (when we went, midday on a rainy Sunday) was peaceful. The wooden Torii are some of my favourite Torii I've seen so far:

Here are some pictures of the Shrine and it's surroundings, enjoy! The colour of the roof is so pretty!

Meiji Jingu,

I bought a couple omamori (protective charm)! It came with two little charms, and we both kept one.

That's all for now, thanks for reading!
Meiji Jingu is such a lovely place, and it's definitely on my must-see list. It's really close to Harajuku too, so if you get a chance, please visit :)
