Over Golden Week, I managed to go to the amazing Kawaii Monster Cafe in Harajuku! Hold me guys, it was so amazing! If you're gonna go to one themed cafe in Japan, then please let it be this one, you won't regret it! The whole experience is so well done and surreal.
The cafe itself is huge, plasticky and tacky, with the best set ever! It has mirrors everywhere, which makes the whole place seem huge and unreal. It was split up into five areas: The mushroom area, milk bottle area, Macaron/sweets area, the Jellyfish bar and the huge Merry-go-round stage (which actually turns round! The waitress- type staff there wear really cute uniforms, and there will also be one or two monster girls there, who are more like performers. They all dress crazily, it's perfect for Harajuku.
I don't know if they perform this every day, because my friend said she didn't get to see it, but while we were there the two staff on duty: one of the "Baby" staff (I don't have good enough pictures to tell who it was sorry) and @asachill. Check out their staff list here, they're all super cute!
I was super enjoying the dance performance, and then my boyfriend and I got called up on stage... aaaah! Just because I had pink hair doesn't mean I'm any good at dancing, you know! It was embarrassing, but fun, and the staff (including the guy on music) were really nice to us ^^ My boyfriend was super salty about getting picked to go up on stage, but I think he secretly enjoyed himself ;)
Even their bathroom was cute as heck guys! There were loads of adverts for a party held there too- Tokyo pop n cute. I always see tonnes of pictures of it on insta from people like Junnyan.
Cheeky bathroom selfie...
The Kawaii Monster Café isn't the cheapest- there's a 500 yen entry fee and, as it's a themed cafe, the food and drinks are all on the expensive side too. But I think it's well worth it as it's such an experience! It really felt like a theme park, especially with the moving set!
I didn't take many other pictures in Harajuku... I was too busy being street snapped (I got street snapped in Harajuku, guys... talk about goals!) and trying to live in the moment (It was my last time there, sadly). But, I posted a tonne of pictures here and here.
One picture I did take was this pram full of cats though... somehow it seems to embody the essence of Harajuku...
I also did a little bit of shopping in WEGO's Harajuku main store (conveniently in the same building), check out my WEGO haul.
After Harajuku, we headed out to the Tokyo sky tree to see the night view, so stay tuned for that!
Hope you guys enjoyed this post! If you have the chance, please check out the Kawaii Monster Cafe, It's the bomb <3

It was the perfect Harajuku day! The only thing that would have improved it would have been to see the kawaii Ojii-san in the sailor uniform...
