York's Christmas market was really cute too!
Probably the cutest area of York is the shambles- you can tell how old the buildings are because they're so wonky. The shambles was full of tasty looking food shops and sweet shops- I definitely want to go back and get myself some fudge.
There was also a really short road called 'whip-ma-whop-ma-gate'.
York Minster is a famous landmark, and although we didn't have time to go in, it's supposed to be really pretty inside. I think there's a ghost tour too!
(not as tall as Salisbury Cathedral though)
Next up was a trip to Bettys! It's quite famous, and there is a Bettys in Harrogate too I think (another place on my list). We went to the small one, and we did have to queue for around 20 minutes but I think it's worth it.
I got a cream tea, and he had the Christmas tea and mince pies. It was sooo yummy!
It was sooo yummy! I'd definitely recommend Betty's as a good (and not overly expensive) place to go for tea.
York also has a tower which we walked up but didn't go in, as it was already getting late (and v cold).
York was super cute! I'm determined to get out and see a little more of the UK (Edinburgh is number one on my bucket list at the moment) so hopefully you guys will see a little more UK travel content soon. (I still have a couple of posts to go from Japan too). Thanks for reading!

I've heard that York is a pretty place but it's just been way too far for me to travel, however I'd love to visit York Minster one day! I am sucker for old buildings and that one is beautiful. You would love Munich - they have tons of pretty buildings there.
ReplyDeleteThose scones are making my mouth water! I love cream tea - I wish I never found out about them because now I keep itching to go to every tea shop I pass haha.
Lizzie Bee // Hello Lizzie Bee
York is so gorgeous :) Luckily for me, it's close to my university so I can go there pretty quickly. Omg I'm dying to visit Germany! Munich sounds amazing <3
