Glasses// I've been obsessed with aviator glasses lately, and I'm so pleased with these ones- I picked up some random ones from amazon for less than £2! You'll have seen these on my instagram @candyflossoverkill , and I've been wearing these on heavy rotation lately. (Also, yes they're fake, sorry glasses wearers).
East London: An Opinionated Guide// I don't know London very well (although my family home is pretty near) and honestly it's a little intimidating knowing where to start when you have the whooooole city to choose from (not like my beloved Leeds- the perfect compact walkable size). So I bought this book to give me some suggestions for getting to know East London. It's really readable, has gorgeous photography and suggests a plant shop and about a million different coffee shops, so I was sold basically. (Also, if you guys have any London suggestions, I'd love to know!)
Bluebird Tea Co. Tea club subscription// I bought myself a tea club subscription for my birthday, and I'm still obsessed! Their teas always smell and taste great, and having some proper fancy tea is such a nice little routine. I loved that they had a little 'Christmas in July' sale, and along with the summery 'sangria' and 'lemonade' flavours, I recieved this 'Jack frost' one in my box- it had little snowflake sprinkles in it!!! I am basically already excited for autumn, can you tell? Another thing about Bluebird Tea Co. is that their customer service was great- there was a mix up with this month's box but I messaged one of their team, Ashleigh, and within a couple of hours I got a really nice reply and a replacement box. <3
La Riche Directions hair dye in Lavender// After my lavender hair faded and I went back to grey, I've been itching to go back to purple (the grass is always greener... right?) so I picked up this from Amazon. I'll do a proper review post on it when I try it out.
L'oreal extraordinary oils hair mask// I forgot to put this in the big flatlay, so I don't have a picture to put here, but I've been trying out this extraordinary oils hair mask and I have to say, it's cheap and smells nice and it's so moisturising so I'm really impressed. Zoe London recommended it, so it must be good! Now if they could only put it in more insta-friendly packaging....
Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara// I've been using Maybelline mascaras since secondary school, I usually use the Colossal Volum' express but I picked this one to try instead this time. I've heard good things about it, so I'm kind of excited to try it.
Barry M base and top coat with nail hardener// There was a 3 for 2 on Barry M, so I picked up a base coat because I get through them fairly quickly. I've had this before- it's cheap and it's a solid base coat and top coat, so I bought it again.
Barry M Quick Dry in Kiss me Quick// I mentioned Collection's Matte Off top coat in my July Favourites, and honestly it saved this nail varnish from looking really weird- something about the finish is just a little off for me. I found that with the quick dry in 'Pit Stop', which I bought last year, too. It's a gorgeous colour though, and it does dry quickly.
Barry M Glitter in Ruby Slippers// how gorgeous is this pinkish red glitter? I'm obsessed.
Simple Clear Skin Oil Balancing Moisturiser// This is more expensive and harder to find than the regular simple moisturiser, but my skin loves it and has a hissy fit whenever I try a different moisturiser. I actually bought 2 of these because there was a 3 for 2 on simple in Boots.
Simple Regeneration Age Resisting Eye Cream// I've hit 21, so I decided to start using eye creams.... It's better to start early, right? When I'm a successful 20-something business lady I'll try something more expensive like the kiehls avocado one, but this Simple one seems to be working for me so far.
Lush Dream Cream// Lush's famed lavender and rose scented rich body lotion. I was in a decidedly 'treat yo' self' mood that day, as I would never usually spend £13 on a body lotion. Even though it's a little expensive, I'm really enjoying this moisturiser- you really only need a little at a time and my skin feels great. My plan is to make it last for about 3 months or so so I don't feel too guilty at the price.
Hadabisei Uruoi Shintou Mask// It's a bit of an indulgence, and it's on the pricy side (£7 for 5) to import these from Japan, but I genuinely notice the difference in my skin after I use these masks so I swear by them when I'm going out and I want my skin to look good. I need to try more vitamin c products and I've got my eye on The Ordinary, but their line up seems a bit mystifying to be honest.
Biore Nose pore strips// I get blackheads and blocked pores on my nose with a depressing regularity, so I always try to keep some nose pore strips on hand. I trust these Biore ones as they seem a bit more hardcore than other ones I've tried. As with all nose strips, you shouldn't use them too often, and you need to use these after a bath or a shower when your pores are open if you want to get the most out of them.
That's it for now, I'm really pleased with everything I bought, but hopefully I'll be able to calm down on the spending next month! Have you bought anything good lately?
Thanks for reading!
