Olaplex no 3 review// is it worth the money?

Olaplex number three and pothos leaves flatlay

Sooo, I've been bleaching my own hair for about 6 years now, with minimal breakage/damage. I take a lot of care over my hair and I've managed to avoid any real horror stories so far. I mean, my hair is a bit damaged but it still is intact and soft

Recently it's been super dry (and it's kind of frustrating because I have noooo idea what happened- I haven't done much differently) and instead of taking the hint and leaving it well alone, letting it get in better condition before I bleached it, I went ahead and did my roots anyway. Well, the long and short of it is that my hair looked pretty sad after bleaching it, and I had more breakage in my hair than normal. It was quite scary actually, because I have read many many horror stories when all someone's hair has just come out. Mine wasn't that bad, luckily (because I do follow the instructions on the bleach and look after my hair) buuuut I thought my hair could do with some extra TLC.

I'm not normally an expensive product sort of gal- the most I've ever spent on a hair mask has been about £10- but desperate times call for desperate measures and I decided to pick up a bottle of the Olaplex no 3 as I've heard a lot of people really liked it.

Cost//

I found it for £17 on amazon, which is not too bad actually, considering the RRP is £30. It is quite a small bottle at 100 ml though.

Application//

My hair is quite short and very fine, so this bottle will probably last me 5 or 6 treatments, but those with thicker hair will probably get through this very quickly.

The product has no smell, and it was easy enough to apply. Just wet your hair and towel dry it, leave the product in for a while, then shampoo and wash it out.

I left it on for about an hour while I was writing an essay. The instructions says 10 minutes, but that it's ok to leave on for longer, and I know my hair could use all the help it can get.

Then I washed it off and left my trusty Bleach London Reincarnation Mask in for about half an hour.

Results//

I could actually feel my hair was smoother and softer when I was washing it out, which was exciting! It's not a *miracle worker* but I've used it a couple of times since then, and it seems to be doing my hair good. Although, I am using my Bleach London hair mask too, so I don't think it's just the Olaplex alone, but still.
Side note: I'd definitely recommend the reincarnation mask! It's only £7 but it's sooo moisturising and soothing and one tube lasts for ages.

Olaplex number 3 review- girl with bleached white hair
This is what my hair looked like after using it a couple of times- basically the same. Olaplex 3 isn't a miracle worker, but

Overall//

Olaplex 3 is something I've been wanting to try for a while, and I'm glad I did. It seems to be doing my hair a lot of good. However, as it's a bit pricy, I don't think you need it unless your hair is doing particularly badly- I bought this in an emergency and it's been great, but if your hair isn't too damaged I'd say just stick to your normal hair mask. Hopefully I won't need to pick up another for a while, because it's a liitle out of my price range honestly. For my fellow Bleach haired gals, this is definitely worth a try, but I wouldn't say it's *essential* and it hasn't changed my hair game completely

Thanks for reading! If you've tried olaplex, how did you get on with it? Any bleached hair care product recommendations?

Stylish Leeds Haul ♡ LUSH, The York Candle Co, Geo Fleur

Leeds haul with Geo Fleur string of hearts plant, Lush charity pot moisturiser and York candle company candles
I bought another plant. Yes I know I have too many plants, but I couldn't resist ok? And I've had a tough couple of months. And plants are good. As are candles and Lush things. So I went to Northern Craft with some pals and treated myself to a couple of cute bits!

Empties #10: Dolly Wink, Crazy Color, Bleach London etc.

empty beauty products

Hey gang! Long time no dig, how are we all? I'm going to do a catch-up post soon, but for now, while I've was on my little blogging break (writing my dissertation, eek) I've managed to accumulate tonnes of empty bottles! So, it's empties time yet again:
